Choosing the right error correction level

Error correction determines how much of the code can be damaged, obscured, or misread while still scanning successfully. Higher levels add more redundancy, which slightly increases the code's visual density.

L (7%) — Digital-only use, screens, clean environments.
M (15%) — General-purpose default for most printed material.
Q (25%) — Outdoor signage, packaging, industrial environments.
H (30%) — When adding a logo overlay or expecting wear and tear.
